Located just outside of Tampa, Florida in the community of Brandon, Bloomingdale is a 7,000 unit master planned community situated on 2,500 acres. Beginning in the mid-1970's, Criterion Corporation, with Bob Sierra as Chief Executive Officer, began developing what was to become one of the Tampa Bay area's highest-rated public golf communities. In addition to great golf, the development of Bloomingdale was devoted to preserving the natural environment. Today, residents enjoy the natural appeal of the land as well as the wildlife, which includes a bald eagle, numerous sandhill cranes, 60 species of semi-rare birds, and raccoon. Now at build-out, Bloomingdale contains a wide mix of uses including single family homes, multi-family homes, and commercial uses.
